LG Innotek camera module converts optical signals received through the lens into electrical signals of RGB (Red, Green, Blue) by using the image sensor. It enables us to appreciate or store the information of objects converted into electrical signals by displaying them on digital image appliances like mobile phones or monitors. The module’s application range is expending, so it can activate digital appliance with sensing functions, such as facial expressions and object movements like hand gesture.
An actuator using Voice Coil Motor (VCM), independently developed by LG Innotek, enables auto focusing and hand vibration compensation (OIS) while moving the lens horizontally and vertically using the magnetic field of a coil that is placed around the lens carrier of the camera module. In particular, the VCM-based actuator is highlighted as a core part that realizes a super-compact camera module as it is highly compact, durable, and competitive in price while realizing compact and thin designs and low power consumption of electric products.
