Seoul, Korea, July 10, 2015 – LG Innotek announced it won a prize for ‘Supplier of the year 2014’ from Continental Automotive Group. The company is therefore recognized one of the best suppliers and automotive solution providers. The award ceremony is held at Düsseldorf’s Hilton hotel in Germany on the July 9, 2015.

Continental Automotive Group has present award to 14 best suppliers from their worldwide portfolio of 900 suppliers based on their performance in Quality, Technology, Cost and De-livery. 

In 2014, Global top 3 automotive supplier Continental generated sales of approximately €34.5 billion with its five divisions, Chassis & Safety, Interior, Powertrain, Tires and Conti- Tech. Continental currently employs approximately 200,000 people in 53 countries.

LG Innotek had already been awarded the Innovation Excellence Award from Continental Automotive Group in 2013.

This award can be considered confirmation to LG Innotek’s potential in automotive industry. Continental is considered a global technology leader in the automotive components industry which requires high quality standards and strict business process control.

Before the ceremony, LG Innotek opened a Technology Day, at Continental’s Germany facil-ity in Babenhausen on the July 3, to introduce motor, sensor, telematics and LED products and new technology.

LG Innotek started its automotive components business in 2006 focusing on the Tier 2 mar-ket. The company has high expectations for continued significant growth in their automotive business.

For the quality competency, LG Innotek established system specialized in automotive elec-tronics components and it also consolidates quality management capability by obtaining ISO/TS16949 in 2004 and ASPICE(Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) last year.
