Seoul, Korea, Nov 10, 2014 – LG Innotek, a leading global materials and components manufacturer, today announced that it is exhibiting the latest core automotive components for smart cars along with components for smart devices and energy systems at Electronica 2014, which is being held in Munich, Germany from November 11 to 14.

The exhibit underscores the company’s commitment to provide cutting edge materials and components to European customers.

Electronica is a leading international trade fair for the global materials and electronics components industry that attracts approximately 2,700 corporate exhibitors from more than 50 countries and draws around 70,000 visitors.

“Our components exhibited at the show promise safety, efficiency and convenience since they encompass LG Innotek’s essential technology advances when it comes to driving, wireless communications and optics. We expect they will meet the needs of demanding customers in advanced economies,” said a LG Innotek executive. “These new cutting edge components are leading market trends in the automotive, smart devices and lighting sectors, providing a splendid opportunity for LG Innotek to highlight its technology leadership to global customers.”

The LG Innotek exhibit booth is divided into three zones – Automotive, Smart, and Energy.

On display in the Automotive Zone are 22 key automotive components that help promote the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS), which improves driving conditions and safety, along with device connectivity components, LED lighting, touch panels, motors and sensors that converges key IT and automotive technologies.

Among key ADAS components is a HD resolution multi-view camera module that helps drivers to identify the road condition accurately through high resolution images with minimized wide-angle distortion. The product reflects LG Innotek’s technology leadership in the global mobile camera module market. Also on display is a radar module that helps avoid collisions by issuing warning signals when it detects nearby vehicles by measuring their location, distance, and speed through millimeter waves.

Connectivity components such as telematics 3G•4G modules and Bluetooth•WiFi combo modules are cutting edge products that will lead the IoT (Internet of Things) era by connecting cars to telecommunication services and IT devices. They not only provide traffic information, but also detect accidents, and send distress signals in emergencies.

LG Innotek will introduce the world’s first flexible LED surface lighting module called, ‘Nexlide’, for front and rear lights of vehicles, and LED packages that offer optimized design and performance for applications such as headlights, tail lights, daytime running lights (DRL), turn signals, and dashboards.

Touch panels for a car’s Audio•Video•Navigation (AVN) system can be supplied in flat and curved shapes with strong durability to improve convenience and design. The biggest size is 27 inches and works with a touch pen or even a gloved hand.

The company will be also showcasing its advanced technology in Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) motors, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) motors, Electric Power Steering System (EPS) motors, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) motors, and Torque Angle Sensors (TAS), as well as wireless power chargers for mobiles, thermoelectric modules, and PCBs for cars.

In the Smart Zone, LG Innotek, the world’s biggest producer of camera modules, will display new high performance camera modules as well as Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL), and Touch Screen Panels (TSP).

The 21 megapixel (MP) camera module with an optical image stabilizer (OIS) is slim with a thickness of 6.1mm since it integrates micro precise motor and optical technologies. The product represents another global first for LG Innotek.

ESL promotes IoT in the retail industry based on wireless telecommunication technology and wireless control technology. It reflects price changes, helps manage inventories and advertises products through a wireless network system in the store, while controlling LED lighting, offering a Location Base Service (LBS), and managing the store environment.

In the Energy Zone, it will introduce full line-up of optimized LED lighting products for various applications including high efficient•high output LED packages, Alternative Current (AC) Direct LED modules, and Ultraviolet (UV) LEDs.

LED Packages with 135 degrees of light viewing angle, and the AC Direct LED module for down lighting is favored by European customers who appreciate its excellent light uniformity with optimized light patterns.

LG Innotek will be available for meetings at Electronica 2014 at booth #261 at the Hall B5.
