LG Innotek (CEO Ung-Beom Lee) will start operation of daycare centers at all of its worksites from March this year as part of efforts for family-friendly management.

LG Innotek said it is operating in-house daycare centers for staff members’ children at its five worksites as a measure to ease childrearing burden weighing on its staff and to elevate the level of their satisfaction at work.

To this end LG Innotek established new daycare centers within its Paju, Gumi, Gwangju and Osan works. The Ansan Research Center also signed a partnership contract with a nearby childcare center, thus equipping all of its worksites requiring daycare centers with childrearing facilities.

LG Innotek recruited a total of over 160 children ages 1 to 5 among children of its staff working at its respective worksite. Professional childcare teachers will take care of the children from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. five days a week.

Ji-soo Chu, 25, a Research Engineer at the LED Business Division, who is taking her two-year-old child to Paju Daycare Center, said, “I had a lot of worries after returning to work after maternity leave, and the use of the in-house daycare center has helped ease my burden from childrearing, which enables me to better concentrate on my work.”

Meanwhile, LG Innotek is operating diverse programs customized for families by life cycle, including “Be My Baby (girlfriend or boyfriend),” a matchmaking program for singles among its staff, congratulatory messages sent on the day of childbirth and entrance to schools, and cheering message conveyed on the day of college scholastic aptitude test.
