LG Innotek (CEO Ung-Beom Lee) opened the 10th Hope Class in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul on January 6.

LG Innotek designated childcare centers that urgently require improvement of environment as “LG Innotek Hope Class” among local childcare centers for children from multicultural and low income families, and has been exerting efforts to improve environment and implementing talent donation programs conducted by its executives and staff members.

The 10th Hope Class has been created by designating Bandi Community Childcare Center in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul. LG Innotek replaced wall paper and flooring, and installed LED lights to transform study rooms in the center into a place that offers good environment for children to study. LG Innotek will also implement talent donation programs conducted by its executives and staff including science classes, and outdoor experience programs at the “Hope Class.”

Starting with Saenal (New Day) School in the Gwangju region in July 2011, LG Innotek has opened a total of 10 Hope Schools nationwide over the past two years, and is operating the Hope Classes in a way that is conducive to the characteristics of its respective worksites.

Hee Jeon Kim, Public Affairs & Relations Division, said, “We are operating ‘Hope Schools’ to help nurture dreams of children, who grow in harmony with local communities,” adding, “We will open one Hope Class each year at each worksite, and promote them as corporate social responsibility programs that constantly support study of children in the local region.”

Meanwhile, LG Innotek plans to continue “Hope Mentoring” and “Science Class for Children” programs for children from multicultural and low-income families in respective areas in 2013.
