LG Innotek (CEO by Ung-Beom Lee) will participate in the ‘Light & Building Expo 2012’ held in Frankfurt, Germany, and introduce its full lineup of LED solutions, as part of its planned incursion into Europe’s LED market.

During the show, the company will display a variety of LED lighting packages, modules and engines from April 15th ~ April 20th (Local Date), as part of its ongoing efforts to secure its position as an LED solutions provider.

The “Light & Architecture Expo 2012,” the biggest event of its kind in the world, is held every other year. This year’s show will attract the participation of 2,300 companies in the global lighting and building industries, which will introduce their own next-generation lighting solutions and technologies.

The exhibition is known as a major arena for global marketing, as it enables participants to identify trade trends between global lighting end-product manufacturers and component vendors such as Phillips, Osram, GE Lighting, Nichia and Cree, as well as the development of leading LED markets in Europe.

■ Demonstrates competence as a leading provider of LED lighting solutions

LG Innotek will focus on publicizing its competitiveness as an LED solutions provider, by introducing package products, modules, engines, power supplies and other LED lighting solutions and technologies during the Expo.

Of all its products, the most noteworthy will be the package line-ups installed with the world’s best LED chips.

LG Innotek will display its highly efficient and reliable packages, ranging from Middle Power Packages using TV Back-Light Unit tech to High-Power Packages using vertical LED chips and futuristic UV (Ultraviolet) LED solutions, all of which are based on the expertise the company has accumulated during its ten years in the LED sector.

Along with diversified package line-up and, the company will also present customized indoor/outdoor lighting modules and engines for display at the show.

At the exhibition, LG Innotek will also demonstrate how its customers can save time on product implementation, and improve operational efficiency, by offering seamless solutions for manufacturing LED lighting system, including power supplies, heat radiation and optical solutions as well as wireless communication technologies which excludes external case.

■ Targets the European and prime global LED lighting market with comprehensive solutions

Starting with this exhibition, LG Innotek will try to promote and strengthen its status as an ‘LED lighting solutions provider,’ and is planning to launch aggressive marketing activities targeting global and European local component vendors and lighting apparatus providers.

The company has put in place a vertical LED manufacturing process; acquired eco-friendly LED lighting certificates approved by internationally authorized testing facilities; developed convergence technologies; and adopted the global standard Zhaga, as part of its efforts to reinforce its competitiveness in the LED lighting business and create additional differentiated customer values.

The company is determined to secure its position as an LED solutions provider with the capacity to provide customized products and technologies to their customers, based on its competitive edge and complete lineup of LED solutions.

The European market, where the company is preparing to launch a full-fledged promotional campaign, accounted for about 35% of the global LED market last year. In particular, the EU is expected to prohibit the sale of all types of incandescent lamps from the end of 2012, which leaves greater potential for the sale of LED lighting products than expected.

The caloric value of the LED lighting market is estimated to reach KRW 12 trillion as of the end of 2012, and may hit KRW 28 trillion by 2015.
