LG Innotek (CEO: Young Ho, Hur) has taken the initiative in reducing CO2 emissions and protecting the natural environment with the ‘Make a GreenForest’ campaign.
The company launched a tree planting program with the aim of protecting the natural environment around YeoduengMountain in Gwangsangu, Gwangju, on April 17
About 100 employees of LG Innotek participated in the planting of 700 trees (four species including oak and zelkova) around YeoduengMountain in Gwangju, which was once used as a training field for reserve forces.
The ‘Make a Green Forest’ campaign, which was held for the first time this year, was aimed at reducing CO2 emissions – the biggest cause of global warming – as part of an effort to cope with rapid climate change.
“This program is a small but significant action to create a purer atmosphere and clean water supply in the future. We are planning to make YeoduengMountain a green forest by continuous purifying and planting activities throughout the coming years,” announced an official at LG Innotek.
LG Innotek has been actively responding to the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, by means of phased programs for the protection of thenatural environment – such as water quality monitoring and regular purification activities on the rivers around its Gwangju plant.
