LG Innotek (represented by Huh Young-ho) exhibited LED lighting products with improved designs and functions, and got awarded at highly recognized international design contests.

LG Innotek announced that it was honored with the prestigious 2010 iF design award for its LED lamp which is eco-friendly and highly efficient, and can be replaced by incandescent or compact fluorescent lamps (CFL). It also acquired a GPD mark at the International Public Design Contest 2009for its LED street lighting.

The International Forum(iF) Design Awards is one of three world-famous prestigious awards events, along with Red-dot of Germany and IDEA of the United States, and granted through screening in consideration of techniques, innovativeness and future brand values.

LG Innotek’’s LED lamp is featured by maximized beauty and function in consideration of all conditions under which customers can experience from product appearance and setup.

The product has applied a cover of polycarbonate material which is highly heat endurable, realizing refined and sophisticated design and protecting users from burn or electric shock.

The lower part of the lamp is colored in dark gray in order to minimize product damage such as scratch or stain from friction with ground or table while being set up.

LG Innotek’’s LED lamp is highly reliable with maximized heat dissipation effect. LED lamps are widely recognized as the next generation lighting products because they do not contain hazardous materials, and consume less power. However, its heat dissipation design makes it difficult to reduce lamp’s weight and product design.

LG Innotek’’s lamp has an internal case surrounding LED in a spiral form that leads to widen the area of contacting with air, with ventilating openings on the top and lower parts maximizing the heat dissipation.

LG Innotek’’s LED lamps have been certified and registered as high-efficiency lighting products in Korea according to Korean Standard(KS) for LED lighting products.

LG Innotek’’s LED street lighting was also certified for GPD(Good Public Design) at the International Public Design Awards 2009 sponsored by Korea Public Design Foundation approved by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, which was intended to draw national interests in public designs and to improve Korea specific public design to the world class level.

LG Innotek’’s LED street lighting is featured by its design flexibility. By applying standardized modular concept of 10W class LED modules, various kinds of streetlights can be produced ranging from 60 watts to 250 watts. The products will be registered for certification of GPD mark and as national procurement products in 2010.
