■ Made suitable for electronic devices such as smart phones, PMPs, PDAs, and MIDs for communications
■ Micro-mini, ultra-slim design enhances portability.
■ "Demonstrative of LG Innotek”s technology and design"
LG Innotek (represented by Hun Young-ho) will be honored with an innovations award for its mobile WiMAX module at the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES 2010), the world’’s largest consumer technology tradeshow which is held in the United States in January next year.
Determined by a panel of judges from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), CES Innovations Awards honor advancements in design and engineering among electronic products entered in the CES Innovations program.
The award-wining device, LG Innotek’’s mobile WiMAX module, is a single-chip solution that provides an integration of an WiMAX baseband chip with the PMIC for efficient power supply, TCXO signal generator for chip driving, RF front end for data transmission, EEPROM for storing the boot loader and stacked SDRAM. The integrated module is suitable for consumer electronics such as smart phones, PDAs, MIDs (mobile internet devices), and PMPs for data communications.
With the application of a filter circuit for WCDMA signals, the module provides more improved user convenience in different conditions as it enables users to use the internet during a voice call and is adjustable not to affect and be affected by Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz band.
The module also features micro-mini ultra-slim size (15 mm x 15 mm x 1.25 mm) which allows electronic devices to have more refined designs and makes them highly portable.
"In light of increasing importance of compatibility between IT devices, our mobile WiMAX module is a solution that better adapts to customer needs," said an official from LG Innotek, "so I think there is great significance in the fact that we wins the CES Innovations award as an electronic components manufacturers, not a set manufacturer."
LG Innotek will unveil its award-winning mobile WiMAX module at the CES 2010 to be held in Las Vegas from January 7 through 10.
