Outdoor readability refers to the sharpness of an image when you look at it on a screen with the naked eye under bright sunlight out-doors.
The surface reflection of light under bright sunlight makes it difficult to recognize photos, video clips, or text with the naked eye on a mobile phone or a digital camera with a conventional LCD module.
The air gap between the window, the outermost part of the LCD screen, and the LCD panel lowers the refraction angle of light by 0.52°, and the light is reflected.
This is the main cause of poor readability.

Now, with LG Innotek’s new outdoor readability-enhanced LCD module there is no need to worry. The air gap is filled with UV resin to maintain the refractive index at about 1.52°, preventing the loss of light emitted from the LCD and improving readability.
The benefits of the new module do not stop here. With the application of UV resin, the new module is about 1 mm slimmer than a regular LCD module, and the surface of the LCD screen is 30 percent more durable.
