
LG Innotek CEO Hur Young-ho was elected as the first president of the Korea Association for Photonics Industry Development on November 30.
The association, which has a membership of 41 domestic firms, aims to conduct research and development on photonics technologies in joint cooperation among the academia, industry, and research institutes, to create a research basis, and to establish a foundation for its members to utilize new technologies.
President Hur observed, on the occasion of his election to the post, "We will form an enterprise-focused consortium, resolve challenging technologies, and boost members’ R&D abilities. We will also form a cooperative system with related agencies to conduct joint projects.”
