LG Innotek (CEO Ung-Beom Lee) posted 35.7 billion won in operating profit on 1.5211 trillion won in sales based on International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS) in the second quarter, as the Company has remained in surplus for six consecutive quarters.
Sales were up 23.1 percent, and operating profit up 110.6% year-on-year. Sales fell 1.9 percent from the previous quarter, but operating profit jumped 125.4 percent.
An LG Innotek official said, “The Company continues to enjoy a trend of solid surplus due to expansion of high added-value products including high-tech semiconductor packages, and efforts to significantly boost cost competiveness, including improvement of productivity,” adding, “It is believed that earnings-focused management in the entire business areas is leading to improvement in profitability.”
In the third quarter, LG Innotek will continue the trend of improving profitability by proactively coping with strategic client’s introduction of new models by banking on its distinctive products, including camera modules and touch windows, and by exerting efforts to enhance cost competitiveness, including improvement of productivity.
Moreover, LG Innotek will step up efforts to develop innovative products designed to spearhead the cutting-edge materials and parts market, and continue a campaign to innovate working culture, such as improvement of work process and creation of environment for work emersion.
