The kick-off ceremony signaled the beginning of a two-day camp designed to help mentors and mentees establish good working relationships before the Hope Mentoring activities get under way. During the two-day event, the participants had an opportunity to learn about each other, acquire a better understanding of the benefits of multiculturalism, and build up their sense of affinity. They also set up specific goals and plans for the mentoring program, which will run for the next six months from May to October. This year’s mentees have been selected by the company’s head office and six domestic worksites and will be matched with twenty-one mentors from the Company.

LG Innotek’s Hope Mentoring program was conceived as a participatory corporate social responsibility program with the aim of providing emotional support to children from multicultural families and helping them grow up as healthy members of Korean society. The annual program was launched in 2010 in collaboration with the Korea Foundation for Women.
