LG Innotek (CEO Ung-Beom Lee) is actively nurturing multicultural family students talented in science.

LG Innotek sponsored science training at the Paju factory on October 13 and 14. The training course targeted 51 students in total, including 14 students from the Science Leader Club managed by LG Innotek, and 37 students from a second class, LG Multicultural School.

With consideration given to the various age groups of the participants, four groups were organized for the customized training course. Active participation was induced by implementing the STEAM (converged talented person education) based laboratory test by level. The training course mainly consisted of programs by subject and an exhibition program.

During the programs by subject, the participating students were given the opportunity to learn the principle of science through a variety of laboratory tests. The students were taught to understand lift force, air resistance, gravity, and turning force by developing a boomerang airplane and top robot. They were also able to learn about plant photosynthesis by extracting chlorophyll and vein of a leaf.

The exhibition program was designed for the students to think about their science aptitudes through Science Musical and Sport Science activities, which were composed of musicals and sport activities. In addition, Jang Giyeon, manager of the LED Research Planning Team, delivered a lecture on LED, and students visited the LED factory to see LED equipment and technology.

In another initiative, LG Innotek has started support for multicultural family youth by establishing the “Science Leader Club” last May. The Science Leader Club is a post-graduate program of the LG Multicultural School graduates. Students will be guided by KAIST professors for two years.
The training course is mainly composed of advanced courses such as science R&D, as well as mathematics and science. There are two regular courses held in a year, and two vacation camps.

In addition, three specialized courses are provided as a differentiated program. The “International group” conducts a scientific investigation to take part in the international youth science exhibition held every year, the “Proper technology group” shares scientific technology with alienated neighbors, and the “Global school entry group” designs their careers as scientists, and searches for their career path and aptitudes.

LG Innotek is committed to supporting multicultural family youth through continuous science education, so that they can demonstrate their scientific talent and grow as a global leader.
