LG Innotek has developed an Ultra-Slim (9.5×9.5×6.1 mm) high resolution three million pixel automatic focus camera module. The successfully completed 3M AF camera module has a thickness of 6.1 mm. Mass production of the product will commence in December of this year.

The newly developed product is a triumph of LG Innotek’s expertise in key technologies in optics and miniature engine control. In automatic focusing functions, the company can boast proprietary developments in fine control, ultra- small scale actuators, and the best high definition technology anywhere.

The product is differentiated by natural colors of even standards giving high quality to the automatic focus, all within a very competitive width of only 6.1 mm.

In 2006, the company developed the world’s thinnest 5.0 mm two million pixel automatic focus camera module, which demonstrated that LG Innotek’s ultra- high quality and miniaturization capabilities were on the global leading edge. Its actuator is configured on a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) and its optical lenses have been successfully miniaturized for the camera module.
