On October 6, LG Innotek received the 9th Commerce, Industry, and Energy Minister’s Electronics Technology Grand Prize, which was organized by the Korea Electronics Association, and was held at COEX.

Park Jang-sun, head of LG Innotek’s RF research department, received the award on behalf of the company.

LG Innotek was nominated for the award, in recognition of its development of land-based, digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) signal- receiving RF front-end module (FEM).

The DMB-receiving FEM is a core component in line with surging trends in digital broadcasts and of IT products that are becoming lighter and smaller. In particular, the super-small FEM is a component that is fit for portable devices, and for which a large demand is expected.

The component will likely enjoy fast growth because a full-swing DMB service via mobile devices will be provided.

Mobile phones, PDAs, and small LCD TVs are rapidly penetrating consumers, thanks to the development of IT industries, and its demand for use in automobiles will also increase.
